Lifestyle Change

Hey Everyone!

So I've been going through some changes recently and I thought I would share some of them with you just because I feel like if I tell you then I will actually really stick with the changes. Most of you that know me, know how unproductive I can be. When I'm at home, I do absolutely nothing and I'm just sick and tired of being this way. I'm sure that if I can change my lifestyle a little bit I will be happier, more active, and my mom will be happier too. Pretty much what I'm trying to say is that all I do everyday is sleep, eat, do my schoolwork and go to school. And I don't think that this is a healthy lifestyle at all. I need to stop sleeping till 1pm and start getting more involved in the community. I feel like I've been living this ignorant lifestyle which revolves solely around me and I am going to change no matter what! From now on I vow to start waking-up earlier in the morning, helping around the house with chores that need to be done, start putting 100% with my school life and GET A JOB. Honestly, it's not like I haven't tried looking for a job but I can't find one that I like. I loved my job at forever 21, but I had to leave since it was costing me more to get to and from work then what I was making. I have applied to so many hotels in downtown and other retail stores around my house but haven't received a call. This is why I am really hoping that I can get a job at the new Novotel Hotel, since that is my dream job. The economy is really putting a damper on my mood (do peaople really still talk like this? i don't know..lol..I thought I'd try it out) So anyways the point of this blog is that I am going to change my lifestyle and I am going to be happier! Just thought I'd update you on my awakening. I actually already tried out my new life this past Saturday and Sunday and I loved it. I got up early on Saturday and did 7 loads of laundry, made a bookshelf, and changed my room's setting. And then today I woke up early, completed my marketing plan, read 4 chapters, studied for my accounting exam, cleaned my room and watched the super bowl. And this may not sound like a big thing to most of you, but if you know me you would know what an accomplishment this is. I feel really proud of myself and I hope I can continue on with this new plan. Tomorrow I plan on getting up early, showering, reading ch 9 and 10 for my cost control class, reading ch 5 for my marketing class and then running some errands for my mom, and then heading to school. I love that I go to school, I just hate that it takes me an hour and a half to get to school. It just feels like such a waste of time, since I could be doing something else like hanging out with my family or my girls or something. I'm just rambling on aren't I? Jeez. Okay I'm going to go to bed now. I'm so tired. Thanks for listening to my rant and I'll be back soon to write a proper entry. Good Night!

New Novotel Hotel Location Opening Soon!

Hey Everyone,

So I’ve been looking for jobs recently since I don't work at Forever 21 anymore, and I just learned about a new hotel that is opening up near my house and I am so excited. As a lot of you know, I want to go into the hotel business, which requires that I have at least 2-3 years of prior hotel work experience. Since the economy sucks right now, I haven't been able to get a job at a hotel since none of them are hiring and I’m just so excited that a new hotel is opening up so close to me. It would be amazing if I got a job there since my travel time would be close to nothing and I would be able to get the experience that I need. I had heard of the Novotel brand before but I wasn't too familiar with it so I decided to take a look at their website and I have to honestly say that it is a beautiful hotel. It’s very modern, clean and sophisticated. Hopefully if I get the job, I will be allowed to make a few videos of the different rooms they offer and upload them to YouTube for all of you to see. So, I don’t really have anything else to say, I’ve been sick for almost 2 weeks which is why I don’t really have any other news or moments to share with you since I’ve been stuck at home. I did completely organize and clean my room, and it looks amazing. Speaking of my room I just remembered something that I want to tell you all. Ok so I have this weird habit that when I put new bed sheets on my bed and my room is clean and organized, I don’t want to leave my room for even a second and all I want to do is study or do my homework or something productive. Even if my mom calls me downstairs for something or my dad needs help, I get really upset! I don’t know why that happens. All I want to do is sit in my room and do my homework or do something very productive or just sit on my bed. It’s really odd. I don’t know if it’s only me or if this happens to other people too. I just think it’s so funny, because I become very attached to my room and I bite my family’s head off if they bug me. I don’t know, maybe it’s just the clean environment that makes me feel really positive but I still think it’s odd. Does this happen to any of you? Let me know because if it does then I will feel so much better about my weird habit. Bye for now and I hope to be back soon with something more fun for you all!

Oh here’s the link to the hotel that I applied to. It’s opening date is March 1, 2010. Check it out and keep it in mind for future trips!

YouTube Guru and American Road Trip

Hey Everyone!

So lately I've been watching quite a bit of these make-up tutorials and funny videos on youtube and I'm kind of getting the urge to start making my own video's. Honestly I've always wanted to make my own video's and upload them on youtube but the only reason I'm holding back is because I'm not sure what to focus on. I am really leaning towards review's of products since I have tried a million products already. I have information on a lot of products so I might as well share my opinion and thought's with others since it might help them out. But I'm not sure. I don't really know what's holding me back. I want to do it so badly but I'm nervous about the negative comments I will receive (every youtuber gets them- there's haters everywhere!) I'll take some time to think it through and then I'll let you all know what my final decision is. Oh and just to share with you all, I am planning on taking a road trip across America with my cousins. There's so many places I want to see, so were thinking of doing a two week road trip so that we can maximize our to do list. I am so excited since I've only been to New York and have not seen anything else in America. I love traveling! Were not sure what states where going to visit yet but as soon as I have details I will be sure to share them with you all. Ok so I'll speak with you all very soon! Good Night :)

Faith 21 Finally Here in Canada!!

Hello my lovelies,

So remember how I wrote a post regarding Faith 21 and how I had a fit that they were not going to introduce the line in Canada? Well I was wrong! Faith 21 has come to Canada and I have got to say that it is a beautiful thing. :) There is a catch though…It has only been introduced at one Forever 21 location and won’t be introduced at any of the other locations until the owner is satisfied with the sales that it makes. So right now, Faith 21 can only be found at Fairview Mall in Toronto, Canada and nowhere else! I have seen the line and I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed. There are two reasons for this which are a) there is not a lot of selection or styles to choose from. The owner didn't want to take a risk of introducing a new line which may not have sold so he started to start off slowly and then increase from there if there was a positive response. So far I believe there has been a very positive response and they have slowly started bring in new merchandise. Reason b) is simply because I found that some of the clothes do not fit as well as they do at other plus size clothes and the reason for this is because Faith 21 is a junior plus size line which really makes a difference in the sizing. But after saying that I also have to be honest and add that this does not mean that you will not be able to find anything that you like. I have been to the locations numerous times and I always find at least 5 things that fit me and I usually fit into a 3x at Voluptuous and 2x at Addition Elle. So don’t feel too disheartened, because I am sure that there is something for everyone. I just wanted to paint a true picture for you because I was completely shocked and bummed out when I first went to Fairview Mall to take a peek at the line. I was so excited and I left the store with NADA. But slowly I realized that I have to give things a try because the material really makes a difference in how the clothing fits. So if a few things don’t fit right, don’t give up. Just think positive and keep trying and you will be surprised at what you find. Also as the sales increase the owner will have to bring in more variety and may even decide to bring in the 3x size (since right now they only have up to 2x available). On that note I would like to end this entry by sharing some news with you all. I applied for the Faith 21 Specialist position at Fairview Mall and I got the job. WOO HOO!!!! I am so excited to start my new job and really push sales and push the owner to bring in more stuff. I will fight hard to ensure that things change at Faith 21! I hope this post has gotten you excited about future shopping spree’s and I hope to see all of you at Fairview!

Oh and I just realized that the website states that size 3x is coming soon. SUCCESS!!

Hospitality Management at George Brown College

Hey Guys,

So I just wanted to take the time to update you guys on whats going on in my life. So I was originally set to go do my post-graduate diploma in hospitality studies in Marbella, Spain, but that plan fell through because of financial problems. I am so upset about the downfall of my plans because I was really excited to get my hotel management career on the road. I have a degree in Sociology which is why I NEED to have some sort of certificate or diploma in hospitality management so that I can get a decent job. This is why I have now decided to continue my education at George Brown College while working full-time in the mornings so that I can get my work experience started. I feel really lost right now because I don't really know if what I'm doing is the right thing, but I honestly have no other options at this point. I have to make do with what I have near home and George Brown seems like the best option. I've compared there program to the one that I was supposed to do in Spain and it's actually quite similar, the only difference is that the one in Spain costs about 24,000 dollars (plus all your other personal expenses). Hopefully every thing will turn out alright and I will get to the top just like I had always planned. Maybe after I get a good job and make some money I can go to Switzerland to get my Masters in Hotel Management. (We'll see about that later though) If you guys are in the hospitality or hotel management industry please give me your thoughts and opinions so that I can really assess my situation right now. Thank for reading and please wish me luck. Thnxs loves :)

Geneva, Switzerland

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to take the time to give a short review of hotel Des Tourelles. It is probably considered a 2 or 3 star hotel, but don't let that scare you. The hotel was spectacular in every way. It is a small and cozy hotel and the staff there are great. Geneva is a small city so getting around is very easy and if you stay at this hotel you will get a free bus pass for the duration of your stay. Although you can use the bus to get around, it is also possible to get around on foot since everything is so close. We stayed in room 34, which comprised of two double beds and a single. We had three people in the room and we were able to stay there very comfortably. The bathroom is a bit on the small side but keep in mind that this is Europe's style in general, they usually have small rooms, bathrooms or kitchens. There was no kitchen or microwave in the room but the staff were kind enough to let us use their kitchen when we wanted to cook our own food. We wood go to the local grocery store (COOP)and by pasta or microwavable dinners and prepare them in the hotel's kitchen. We had no problems while we stayed there and the staff spoke enough English to help us with our inquiry's. You can buy calling cards at the local convenience store and use the many public phones to call home (if you like). We were on a very low budget, which is why this hotel was perfect for us. We also found it more beneficial to eat from fast food restaurants such as Burger King or McDonald's, since the other restaurants were a lot more expensive. Also keep in mind that Europe has a very relaxed lifestyle, which means that their clubs are not like American or Canadian clubs. They mainly like to lounge and talk in a club setting which means that you will mostly be exposed to trance music at low volumes when in Geneva. If you guys have any other question about the city or anything else fell free to contact me or just comment on the article. Enjoy!
